Hugh Percy

Managing Director

Hugh has been the Managing Director of First Capital since founding the company in 2002.
Hugh has extensive experience as a financial adviser working with individual, SME and corporate clients across New Zealand.

He has a degree in Political Science, has been a past assessor for Level 5 certification and has completed a Graduate Diploma in Business Studies (Waikato). He is also a Certified Financial Planner.

Lachie Gunn

General Manager | Director

Responsible for the operational management of the business Lachie has nearly 30 years industry experience with a number of years in Employee Benefits and Senior Management roles.

As well as working directly with clients Lachie chairs the Investment Committee and manages the compliance and regulatory requirements.

He has a Graduate Diploma in Business Studies (Massey) and is a Certified Financial Planner and Charted Life Underwriter and currently sits on the FANZ Certification Committee.

Kevin Iles

Employee Insurance | Director

Kevin joined First Capital in 2008 having held several Senior Management roles with various health insurance providers.  

He has over 25 years experience in financial services and manages the implementation and the management of employee benefit programmes in particular, medical insurance schemes.

He holds NZ Certificate in Financial Services - (Life and Health Insurance).

Dai Eveleigh

Head of Investments and UK Pensions | Director

Dai is our Senior Investment Adviser and responsible for financial planning and investment portfolios. Dai also has an extensive background in UK Pension transfers and is able to provide comprehensive advice in this area.

He has over 15 years’ experience in the financial services industry including working at Barclays (UK) as an Independent Financial Adviser.

Before joining First Capital in 2013, he held the NZX Associate Adviser qualification and a Sharebrokers licence. 

He has a Graduate Diploma in Business Studies (Massey) and is a Certified Financial Planner.

Kate Brookes

Investments

Kate joined First Capital in 2015. She has a Bachelor of Communications and as well as managing the administration in our investment area has played a big part in upgrading and preparing client communications and reports.

More recently Kate has recently moved into a Financial Adviser role, supporting clients directly on various matters. She has completed the Level 5 Certificate in Financial Services.

Cherie joined First Capital in September 2019 and is responsible for providing risk advice to our existing and new clients. As well as holding a Masters Degree in Finance, Cherie has recently completed her Graduate Diploma in Personal Financial Planning and is a Financial Adviser. She is fluent in both English and Chinese (Mandarin)

A distinguished career which began in the UK has seen Phil travel to NZ via Johannesburg and London as an employee benefits specialist. He has more than 25 years’ experience of New Zealand’s ever evolving employee benefits market. He joins First Capital after completing 18 years with an international broker.

 

As a Financial Adviser Phil will be able to assist corporate businesses develop bespoke benefit programmes for staff and engage with individuals on their own personal protection arrangements.

Lars Bojsen-Møller

Lars joined the insurance industry in 2004, initially as the NZ Sales Manager for a global German insurer before joining the Senior Executive team at NZ’s largest private health insurer, where he spent 13 years leading the sales, marketing and product teams.  Throughout his career he has also held a number of General Management & Executive roles in other industries.

 

Due to his experience, Lars can assist SME and Corporate businesses to increase their productivity and employee retention through the design and implementation of customised employee benefit programmes.  He can also assist individuals with their own personal protection needs.
